Three of Pentacles of the Tarot Card DeckThree of Pentacles of the Tarot Deck – Minor Arcana – An artisan is at work in a monastery. Two figures are showing the plans, perhaps seeking his services.

Upright: Can quite literally mean a trade or skilled labor yet can go further to represent the reputation you have earned by performing these skills with the highest of qualities. Success, in business, school, etc.

Reversed: A lesser degree of success, mediocrity. Perhaps you are still trying to build that good reputation.

Wheel of Fortune Tarot RecoloredThe Wheel of Fortune (although the 10th Tarot card) is the third image I have re-colored from the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot Deck. The sketch is from the 1909 published Tarot deck. I followed the original color scheme for the most part. My intention is to add a new image about once a week. You are welcome to save this image and do what you please. All I ask is that you give credit and provide a link to my blog. Comments are welcome.

7 of Pentacles – Fruits of Your Labor

June 12th, 2008 | No Comments » | By Steve Brenner

Seven of Pentacles Tarot CardSeven of Pentacles – Minor Arcana – Tarot deck –“Fruits of your Labor” – A man ponders his harvest as it is a direct result of his efforts. The pentacles (or coins in some Tarot decks) can literally represent money although the “pile” as a whole can be any of the rewards from ones hard work. Although he has accomplished much his ambition and patience keeps him moving forward. Seven of Pentacles is sometimes called the card of money.

Upright: Innocence, ingenuity, patience, ambition, hard work, steady progress

Reversed: Anxiety regarding the lending of money, think about where you are putting that ambition and hard work.

Intuition – An Introduction

June 3rd, 2008 | No Comments » | By Steve Brenner

A good portion of the interpretation when reading Tarot cards and spreads will come from the reader’s intuition. Intuition is the part of your mind that just knows, a quick realization that lacks any logic or proof.

"The value of intuitive and clairvoyant faculties is of course assumed in divination. Where these are naturally present or have been developed by the Diviner, the fortuitous arrangement of cards forms a link between his mind and the atmosphere of the subject of divination, and then the rest is simple… But intuition, even if apparently dormant, may be cultivated by practice… At the beginning this will probably resolve itself into mere guessing and may prove incorrect, but it becomes possible with practice to distinguish between a guess of the conscious mind and an impression arising from the mind which is sub-conscious." - The Pictorial Key to the Tarot - Edward Waite

When you first begin to read Tarot spreads it will be diificult to distinguish between your everday thoughts, the conscious mind, and an impression from your of your intuition, the sub-conscious mind. Don’t get frustrated, building your intuition will take practice.

In the intuition category of The Tarot Deck I will provide posts on:

  • How to fine tune your intuition through meditation.
  • Shatter the myths that block your intuition.
  • Cover the various styles of intuition.
  • Take advantage of dreaming to enhance intuitive thoughts.
  • Formatting questions to help direct your intuition.
  • Scientific research on intuition.
  • Side notes on famous scientists who referenced intuition. i.e. Einstein

Have any questions regarding intuition. Please leave a comment so I know what areas to start with.
